We’re going oyster diving.
If you love scuba diving and you love fresh oysters, this one’s still a no-brainer. November just adds a little edge. Colder water, fewer people, and the same excellent payoff if you come prepared.
This is an organized, instructor-led dive for experienced divers. I handle the access, logistics, limits, and safety side of things so you can focus on diving and filling your bag.
November diving in the Chesapeake is quieter, colder, and absolutely worth it if you dress for the conditions.
Date: November 14, 2026
Location: Off Kent Island, Maryland
Group size: Small. No cattle boats.
Show time: 7:00 am
Boat leaves: 7:30 am sharp
Two-tank dive
Depth: 15 to 20 feet
Water: Brackish. Weight yourself like salt water.
Temps: Typically 50s to low 60s in November, depending on conditions.
Exposure protection: 7mm wetsuit minimum. Hood and gloves strongly recommended. Drysuit welcome.
You’ll be harvesting up to the legal limit of oysters. Expect real work. A bag of oysters weighs about the same as a bag of rocks, so proper lift is required. Do not plan on using your BCD as a flotation device for shellfish.
Bring a goodie bag, a lift bag, and a cooler for the ride home. November oysters are worth the effort.
Your reserved seat on the boat for the November oyster dive, including organized access, dive coordination, and safety oversight.
Transportation to and from the dock is not included. You are responsible for arriving on time and ready to dive.
Scuba tanks and air fills are not included. Tanks are available as optional add-ons if needed.
Scuba weights are not included. Weights are available as an optional add-on.
All personal scuba equipment is not included. Divers must bring their own properly serviced gear.
Gratuity for the boat crew is not included and is appreciated if you feel they earned it.
